Family rides in Perth
Excellent opportunities for family cycling exist in the centre of Perth.

There are several rides that utilise Perth's excellent dual-purpose paths.
Perth Water
Perth water, between the Causeway and the Narrows Bridge, provides a leisurely 9.5 kilometre ride through riverside parkland. On this ride, cycling can be combined with a swim in the river, surfcat sailing or watching the windsurfers from Mill Point.
Access from Perth water to Kings Park by bike is easiest via the dual-use path next to Mounts Bay Road to Hackett Drive (3 kilometres) and through to the underpass at Winthrop Avenue.
The bridge over Mounts Bay Road from the Narrows interchange provides access by foot only. Malcolm Street and Mount Street are both very steep.
Kings Park
Kings Park provides a unique four-hundred hectares of unspoiled parkland, beautiful at all times of the year, but magnificent during the spring wildflower season. For protection of the park and the comfort of other park users, please cycle only on the roads or designated dual-use paths. In other areas, including special nature trails and the botanic gardens, dismount and push your bike.
A network of paths at Hale Oval offers an ideal opportunity for young children to get some supervised cycling practice.
