Munda Biddi Trail
Western Australia's first long distance off-road cycling path
The Munda Biddi (meaning path through the forest in the Nyoongar Aboriginal language) Trail has been designed for all mountain bike enthusiasts and recreational cyclists who are seeking a safe and enjoyable bush cycling experience.
Once complete, the trail will be 900 kilometres long, but currently only Stage 1 from Mundaring to Collie (332km) is complete and open to riders.
The best of the bush
The Munda Biddi trail uses a network of bush tracks and old railway lines to link cyclists with many charming towns and forest attractions including Jarrahdale, Dwellingup, Logue Brook Dam, Collie, Donnybrook, Nannup, Donnelly River, Manjimup, Pemberton, Northcliffe, Walpole, Denmark and Albany.
Cyclists can expect to encounter an array of wildlife and experience changing landscapes such as the rugged Darling Range, winding river valleys, magnificent native forests and the spectacular southern coastline.
Something for everyone
Different sections of the trail will be suitable for cyclists of all levels, with challenging loops and spurs to be added once the main trail is completed. And because the trail is completely off-road, you can enjoy the scenery while you safely cycle through the forest on the dirt track.
Purpose-built cycle-friendly campsites have been built every 35-40km between towns. Campsites have a composting toilet, two water tanks, picnic tables, undercover bike storage facility, sleeping quarters for 25-30 people, and cleared tent sites.
