Your workplace

Make Ride to Work Day a success in your workplace. Help new riders get involved and drive facilities development within your workplace.

Regular Riders play a very important role in the Ride to Work Program. They can provide support and advice to new riders, develop a Workplace BUG for other regular riders to be a part of and drive facilities improvements such as better bike parking and end of trip facilities. There are many things you can do to support riding in your workplace such as:

Workshops

Workshops are a great way to share tips, answer questions and start discussions. Organising a workshop is a great excuse to get cyclists in your workplace together. Invite a guest speaker or somebody from your local bike shop to share their cycling knowledge.

By publicising your workshop to everybody in your workplace you may even pick up a few new members, or people who would like to start cycling.

There are loads of topics you can hold your workshop on, some of them can be: riding in traffic, getting ready for riding in winter or bicycle maintenance.

There are many bike stores who will come out to your workplace to provide hands on bike maintenance workshops. One of these stores is Gran Prix Cycles in Caulfield South, Melbourne. For more information contact Gran Prix Cycles on 9523 0611.

Ride to Work another day

Perhaps you'd like to organise a Ride to Work Another Day breakfast or morning tea. It is a great way for regular and new cyclists to get to know each other, and you may even entice some more of your colleagues to commute to work by bike.

Presentation for new riders

Have you thought of running a lunchtime workshop for new riders to help them take the first step? This 20 minute presentation works well along side the Everything you wanted to know about riding to work...but were afraid to ask flyer. If you would like more flyers please contact us - it may even be something you would like to keep on hand at work.
