Andrew Bain is the author of Headwinds, the story of his 20,000km bike ride around Australia and also of Lonely Planet’s A Year of Adventures

 

 

Rene Bueman's history includes being co founder of the St Kilda Cycling Club, being the first full time manager of a privately owned Australian pro-cycling team (Drapac Porsche) which included running the teams medical program, and publishing his own bike magazine.
 

 

Karen Graham is a freelance travel writer and professional photographer who specialises in active travel, including cycling, hiking and volunteering. She is currently on a mission to discover all of Victoria’s rail trails.

 

 

 

Jon Miller has been riding bikes of different shapes and sizes for twenty years. He likes all forms of cycling – especially touring – and is a current member and past president of Melbourne Bicycle Touring Club (www.mbtc.org.au).
 

 

 

Jane Holroyd has been a print and online journalist in Melbourne for five years. She began riding to work from Brunswick about three years ago when she discovered her hybrid bike was faster than the Lygon Street tram.

 

 

Rowan Lamont has had a love affair with bicycles ever since riding on the crossbar of his dad’s touring bike aged three. He has ridden most styles of bicycle and has competed in road, track and mountain bike events in Canada, the UK, the USA, South Africa, Borneo and Australia. An industrial designer by profession, he regularly moonlights as a MTB instructor. Rowan’s greatest challenge in life is how to acquire more bicycles without his wife noticing.
 

 

 

Gavin Lombard is a photographer and long-term, all-weather commuter who has been car-free for five years. The only thing he likes better than riding is photographing other bike riders.

 

 

 

John Trevorrow was a four-time Australian road champion, Commonwealth bronze medallist and Olympic representative. As a European professional, John completed the Giro d’Italia in 1981 before becoming a cycling journalist and promoter of Australian road cycling events. He was the central character in the 2005 movie Detour de France and the follow up Detour the Movie. John now writes for www.ozcycling.com and runs John Trevorrow’s Cycle Store in Geelong.

 
Oslo Davis is an illustrator and cartoonist based in Melbourne. He draws occasionally for The Age, the New York Times and various magazines. Oslo is also a regular contributor to Meanjin and draws a weekly cartoon for the Sunday Age called 'Overheard'. He rides a trendy Trek 7.3 FX.
 

 

Nick Chamberlin is Bicycle Victoria’s Bicycle Promotion Coordinator, the key contact for all bicycle businesses. He has worked in the bicycle retail industry in both the UK and Australia. Fascinated by all things bicycle, Nick is always interested to know who is riding bikes and why.
 

 

 

Laura Williamson is a writer from Wanaka, New Zealand. She spends some of her time working, some of her time riding, and most of her time chasing after her three-year-old son Liam.
 

 

 

Ben Canaider runs a bike-foster program in Balaclava. He is a typist who drinks and his website is www.bencanaider.com

 

 

Matt Adams is a multi-award-winning illustrator and cartoonist.
