Promote to prospective parents - you're a Ride2School school!

About this page

What attracts parents to send their children to your school? Is it the sports or music programs, the academic record or environmental effort of the school? Or is it that your school is a dedicated Ride2School school?

We're hearing from schools that they are proud to promote the fact that they are an active travel school to prospective parents.

Carrum Primary School recently had articles in the local papers inviting prospective parents along to an Education Week at the school.

The Ride2School program is mentioned as one of the positive features of the school, with Carrum PS enthusiastically taking part as a coach school for Semester 1 2008.

The school has shown great commitment to the program, and has techniques such as the Frequent Rider Passport and weekly assembly prizes to encourage more students walking and riding to school.

Schools who have strong sustainable, environmental, and health and well-being priorities may well be on the path to attracting parents by educating students, not only in the neccessary curriculum aspects, but also a commitment to better life practices.

A strong Ride2School program in your school might be the icing on the cake for parents to make the decision to send their children to you!
