Show this PowerPoint presentation at year level or whole school assemblies to encourage students to get cycling.

The 500km Gold Medal Challenge is open to secondary students and encourages students to accumulate 500kms by December 12, 2008. Students use a log book and have their kilometres verified by an adult, working towards receiving a gold medal. Best of all this event is free to register and take part in!

Here is a fantastic presentation with plenty of pictures which will catch student’s attention. The presentation contains information on registering, winning a gold medal, accumulating kilometres, using the log book and all the great prizes that are available just for taking part.

  1. Download the presentation
  2. Save the presentation to your computer
  3. Go to “View”, “Full screen” or Ctrl+L. This allows you to click through the pages rather than having to scroll down.

Display posters around the school so students can obtain the web address to register online or provide them with a registration form.

Glenn Archer, ambassador of the program will be presenting gold medals to the metropolitan school that has the greatest number of students complete the 500kms.
