Premier's Active Families Challenge

About this page

Win great prizes for getting active during the Premier's Active Families Challenge. Walking or riding to school together could really add up!

The Premier’s Active Families Challenge is an exciting new program run by the Victorian Government as part of the ‘Go for your life’ initiative, to improve the physical activity, health and wellbeing of Victorian families.

Families can complete the Challenge by doing at least 30 minutes of physical activity a day for 30 days between 9 March and 20 April 2008.

When families register for the Challenge, they will be asked to nominate the school their children attend. Primary schools with registered participants will then go into a draw to win one of eight $3,000 sporting equipment prize packages.

For more information on the Challenge and to register, call 1300 739 899 or visit www.goforyourlife.vic.gov.au

Encouraging students to walk or ride to school, as part of the Ride2School program, is a great way for students to get their 30 minutes of physical activity a day.

As a registered participant you’ll get ideas on fun things to do, events to get involved in, a chance to win prizes and a completion certificate. You will also receive offers such as 15 free visits to YMCA and 10% discount at Rebel Sport. The Herald Sun free Challenge booklet includes a diary to help keep track of your family’s activity during the Challenge.

So go on, get active and take the Challenge.
