The Ride2School program works with a number of partner organisations and councils to get more students walking and riding to school.
$4 million for 4 years - 34,000 students get on their bikes
On Friday 20 October Premier Steve Bracks announced an additional $2.9 million to expand Ride2School. This will enable the program to be developed in secondary schools and for more events to promote young people riding more often.
3 bicycles to be won in Warrnambool!
Thanks to TravelSmart and Walking School Bus Plus, under the auspices of Nicole Wood in Warrnambool, working in conjunction with the Ride2School program.
Active Travel starts with Shepparton Schools!

Everyone's supporting National Ride2School Day, especially local government. In both 2007 and 2008 local governments had a really important role, promoting the health and fitness of their junior citizens through encouragement for schools to get involved in Ride2School Day.

Ride2School has developed a partnership with Kids - 'Go for your life'. Kids - 'Go for your life' is rolling out 6 icons connected to healthy eating and active living in Primary Schools. For Terms 3 and 4 in 2008, the theme is Move, Play and Go. We reckon that fits in very well with more students walking and riding more often - to school, to play and to friends.

Municipal Association of Victoria President supports Ride2School
Cr Dick Gross is the President of Victoria's peak local government body, the Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV). He has urged councils throughout VIctoria to get behind Ride2School. This statement of support will be great for Councils which are unsure of how to proceed.

Sustainability Victoria is an organisation with a simple purpose - to show the way to using resources more efficiently and reducing our everyday environmental impacts. It has a number of programs useful for schools. If you are interested in more students riding and walking more often, you are already interested in sustainability!

The students and staff of Fairfield Primary School, (Langridge St Fairfield, Melways 31 A10) helped pilot the Ride2School program in 2006.
Yarra Ride2School Day - Wheelie Succesful
The City of Yarra was proud to support Ride to School Day 2007, offering $1500 worth of extra incentives for local schools to get involved.
