Home and contents policies and your bike
Many traditional home insurance policies will not provide cover for items such as bikes, cameras, watches and sunglasses – all of those things you take with you on the Great Rides!
In association with Middleditch Insurance Brokers, Bicycle Victoria is able to offer you this comprehensive type insurance cover. Underwritten by QBE Insurance Australia - one of the largest Australian owned, international insurance companies - The CycleSafe Home™ insurance policy provides cover for the financial investment you have made, on a new for old basis.
What's covered:
CycleSafe Home™ insurance policy covers you for accidental or malicious loss or damage to your bike and home contents; you also have the option to extend this cover to your home buildings.
The value of your bike is automatically covered within your overall contents sum insured and you can cover as many bikes as necessary under the CycleSafe Home™ insurance policy. There is no need to specify separate sums insured.
You are automatically protected with $20,000,000 legal liability to third parties should they claim against you for compensation or expenses if you are legally liable for the death or bodily injury of any person, or the loss of or damage to their property.
The cover is valid anywhere in Australia or New Zealand for an unlimited period or anywhere in the world for up to 90 days.
As a further benefit to Bicycle Victoria members, you also have cover if your bike is damaged whilst racing or participating in an event - something excluded under many hosehold insurance policies.
You also have the flexibility of paying your premium annually or via 12 monthly installments.
