Relax, you're in Geographe Bay!

Located just a few hours south of Perth, this region has a long history as an easily accessible coastal playground. Geographe Bay enjoys an enviable reputation as a superb seaside holiday destination with much of the accommodation a short walk away from the tranquil waters of Geographe Bay. With white sandy beaches at your door step, surf beaches around the corner, caves and National Parks to explore Geographe Bay is a nature lover’s playground!
Busselton
Busselton was one of the earliest settlements in Western Australia, having been settled in 1834 and is named after the Bussell Family, who were among the original settlers. The region is now home to over 25,000 people. The town retains its country feel, providing visitors with a wide variety of cafes and restaurants to relax and enjoy the laidback pace of life! Browse through the local boutiques, enjoy sampling some local produce, or just relax by the bay.
Things to See and Do
- Walk out along the 143 year old Busselton Jetty- at almost 2km in length it is the longest timber jetty in the Southern Hemisphere. You can take a tour through the Underwater Observatory and enjoy the view of the colourful coral and schools of fish that live beneath the jetty.
- If its caves you enjoy, take the short journey to Ngilgi Cave near Yallingup and challenge yourself on a fully guided adventure tour! Head into the depths of the cave and see dazzling displays of ancient cave formations.
- Grab your bike and take the cycle path along the shores of Geographe Bay to Dunsborough. The nearby town features more cafes and great boutiques- and was awarded the Top Tourism Town for WA in 2007. Grab a map of the cycle paths from the Busselton Visitor Centre
- For history buffs, check out the Busselton Museum which features a wide variety of treasures from yesteryear- or visit the oldest stone church in Western Australia, St Mary’s.
- Head out to the wine region- wine tours depart daily, with collection available from your accommodation, or grab your free map from the Visitor Centre and explore the gourmet treats of the region- with free samplings of wine, cheese, chocolate and olive products- you will not go hungry or thirsty!
- Relax…the white sandy of beaches of Geographe Bay are the perfect place to spend the day enjoying some sun and sand! The Busselton Beachfront is only a five minute walk from the centre of town, and features kiosks, shady lawn areas and public amenities.
