Polar prizes to be awarded
Platinum Prize: an E40 management kit consisting of 10 x E40 heart rate monitors and carry bag (valued at $2,500) - awarded to the school with the highest percentage* of participants.
Gold Prize: 8 x E40 heart rate monitors (valued at $2,000) - awarded to the school with the second highest percentage* of participants
Bronze Prize: 5 x E40 heart rate monitors (valued at $1,250) – awarded to the school with the third highest percentage* of participants
School Team Manager Prize: the RS400 heart rate monitor (valued at $499) – random draw prize awarded to a School Team Manager
6 x vouchers for Polar CS200cad Cycling Computers (valued at $375 each) - awarded randomly to registered riders.
* Percentage of participation will be calculated using total number of individual registrations in your school divided by total number of students supplied by the team manager.

Route - 80km M-PR-M
- The Ride takes you around the eastern side of Port Phillip Bay, commencing at Alexandra Gardens in the City of Melbourne (Melway ref: 2F J7), then heading in a clockwise direction to Patterson River the halfway turn around point and finishing back at Alexandra Gardens in Melbourne.

Code of Conduct
Riders are responsible for following all road rules and are expected to share the road with other users. Riders must adhere to the Code of Conduct at all times.
Start Location and Time
Alexandra Gardens at the intersection of the Swan Street Bridge and Alexandra Avenue from 7.00am to 7.30am.
Please note that all riders are legally required to have both front and back lights as it will be dark when you start.
Rest Areas
There is only one rest area located along this Ride, which is at:
- Alexandra Gardens (Melway 2F J7)#
- Peter Scullin Reserve, Mordialloc (Mel 92 E1)#
- Alexandra Gardens (Melway 2F J7)#
Note: # Red Cross First Aid Posts will be set up at these rest areas.
You should be prepared for any type of weather conditions on the day. We will provide you with access to water at the rest stop areas. There are opportunities to purchase drinks and food along the route in case you need additional nutrition.
Bib Information
- Bibs for Polar 80km School Challenge must be visible and worn at all times during the ride.
- Each rider will be given two bibs - one to be worn high on your chest and one to be worn on your back.
- The front bib has one tear off section. This will be redeemed for lunch. You will not receive lunch without this.
- You must complete the emergency information section on the back of your bibs.
- You will also be identified for photos by your bib, so it is important that it is clearly visible.

Other information
- Rider heading towards Patterson River will need to turn left from Crockford Street into Pickles Street.
- Sag Wagons will be operating all day to provide support for riders who have mechanical problems or are unable to continue riding.
- Marshals are located throughout the route to provide directions and assistance at busy intersections, roundabouts and similar locations.
- Red Cross are the official First Aid providers and will be located at all the major Rest Areas.
- For the 80km Ride Option – the Rider must be aged 12 years or older on the day of the Ride.
Reporting Incidents
Report all incidents to the nearest marshal including hazards (potential or otherwise) or accidents. If there is an emergency on the route, call either of the emergency numbers on the back of your bibs which are:
