All About GO Bike

Why: The popularity of biking throughout Victoria – and indeed, throughout all of Australia – calls for a celebration! The GO Bike Expo lays setting for just such a celebration.
 

Alexandra Gardens, on the banks of the Yarra River, is the setting for the Melbourne Cycling Festival. At the heart of the festival is the GO Bike Expo, which aims to capture as many aspects of the ‘cycling world’ as possible – including racing, recreation, health, transport, clubs, tours, equipment, products and the environment – and it invites all retailers and distributors to exhibit. GO Bike will be held over the weekend of 19-21 October, starting on Friday 19 October from 4-8pm, followed by Saturday and Sunday sessions open from 10am to 5pm. Entry for the public is free and exhibitors are welcome to retail.

In conjunction with the GO Bike Expo, two of Victoria’s iconic cycling events are coming together to create the Melbourne Cycling Festival. The ‘Jayco Herald Sun Tour’ and the 'Portfolio Partners Around the Bay in a Day’ meet for this weekend celebration – a bike riding precinct in the heart of Melbourne.

Portfolio Partners Around the Bay in a Day, which draws over 15,000 participants, will end alongside the GO Bike Expo. In addition, the Jayco Herald Sun Tour will finish with a circuit around the adjoining Gardens Precinct on Sunday 21 October. The combination of events across the weekend – which will include a range of fun activities that will take place alongside the bike riding events, including the ‘Go For Your Life’ Tour Village and, of course, the GO Bike Expo – will create a captivating occasion for all bike riding enthusiasts, participants and spectators.
