Location of Alexandra Gardens
Alexandra Gardens can be found next to the boatsheds on the banks of the Yarra River and in the heart of Melbourne City. They are opposite Queen Victoria Gardens and can be accessed via St Kilda Road or Alexandra Avenue / Boathouse Drive.

By Bike
To get there by bike, simply follow the Capital City Trail or follow the bike lanes along St Kilda Road.
Public Transport
Being in the heart of the City of Melbourne, Alexandra Gardens is easily accessibile by public transport. Trams run along St Kilda Road, and Flinders Street Station is only two minutes walk away.
Please note that bikes are not allowed on trams.
Car Parking
Historically many riders choose to park a small distance from the start/finish venue and ride to the event.
However, for those that need to drive, we will work with the City of Melbourne to notify a number of commercial parking operators around Alexandra Gardens.
The following is a list of commercial parking operators (correct for 2007):
- Art Centre - open 24 hours 7 days a week. Flat fee of $12 all day Sunday. 850 spaces.
- Federation Square – Saturday 8.00am – 2.00am and Sunday 8.00am –midnight. Check the fee and number of available spaces.
- Southbank – a number of smaller operators within the precinct.
- Crown Casino – open 24 hours 7 days a week. Basement parking on Sunday flat fee of $10 per day. Multi Level parking on Sunday flat fee of $6 per day. 5,000 spaces.
- Melbourne Park – Check access times and number of spaces available. $6 per day.
