3. Basic Training Guides

The ride may not be until October, but it won't hurt to get started early! Check out our five new training programs.

Below are the five different types of training programs Rob Crowe (2 x Olympian and National Road Cycling Champion) of Ridewiser has developed to help get you into shape for Around the Bay in a Day® 2009.

Each twelve week program is based on your ability and time available to train.

The programs are based on the minimum number of kilometres needed to competently tackle the following courses:

50km (166KB PDF)

80km School Challenge (166KB PDF)

100km (167KB PDF)

210km (152KB PDF)

250km (170KB PDF)

Tips from the riders

Bicycle Victoria cannot emphasise enough, the importance of following basic group riding rules when riding in a bunch.  Please ensure you are familiar with them during your training and on the day of the ride.

All new "roadies" should read the Cyclists Code of Conduct
