Travel Insurance is not provided as part of your Ride entry.
The Great Escapade Team strongly recommends that all 2008 Great Escapade Participants consider taking out Travel Insurance. This can be done through 2008 Great Escapade Entry. Travel Insurance Policies no longer cover the cost of Ambulance Trips, so we also recommend you become a Member of the Ambulance Service.
Bicycle NSW Non-Members & Bicycle Victoria Non-Members
We are not able to offer a non-member travel insurance option for the Great Escapade. Please look into online travel insurance options or talk to your local travel agent. Bicycle NSW and Bicycle Victoria Membership includes travel insurance as part of their policy.
Bicycle NSW Members and Bicycle Victoria Members
There are many great reasons to become a Bicycle New South Wales or Bicycle Victoria Member and here is another one!
Members of either organisation have a Travel Insurance Policy included in the Membership fees.
This Insurance is part of the Membership Insurance and expires at the same time as your Membership. To ensure that you have Travel Insurance on the 2008 Great Escapade, look at the expiry date of your Bicycle NSW or Bicycle Victoria Membership (on your Membership Card) and ensure it does not expire until after the 2008 Great Escapade. If it does expire before the 2008 Great Escapade, renew your Bicycle NSW or Bicycle Victoria Membership and the Travel Insurance will be there to protect you.
You receive a higher level of benefits for items such as Death and Disability and Personal Liability as well as being eligible for additional benefits such as Loss of Income.
Bicycle NSW and Bicycle Victoria Members are also covered by Personal Accident and Public Liability Insurance anytime they are riding, not just on the 2008 Great Escapade. This is reassuring while you are doing your training.
