Medical Road Patrol, Medical Campsite Clinic
Medical Road Patrol Team
The Care Road Medical Team move about the Ride Route under the guidance of Route Operations and are on the scene when required. The Team liaises with the Medical Clinic and local medical authorities to arrange for transport participants requiring further medical treatment. Members of this Team also rotate through Rest Stops along the Route, providing mobile First Aid assistance. Working hours for the Medical Road Patrol are during the Ride Route opening hours, approximately 7:00am to 5:00pm.
Medical Campsite Clinic Team
Dealing mainly with grazes and sore joints, this Team is made up of dedicated members with skills in Nursing, First Aid, Physiotherapy, Paramedic, Medicine and Administration. The Team is rostered on a 24-hour basis, within a clinic situated on each campsite. The Team provides a basic First Aid level of service, with the Campsite Clinic busy during the afternoon, as riders arrive. When applying for this Team, authenticated proof of qualifications is required. Clinic operation hours are:
7:00am – 8.30am and 4:00pm – 8:00pm with a rotating on call night roster.
