The Great Escapade Team is committed to the Emergency Management Responsibilities for the 2009 Great Escapade
The 2009 Great Escapade Emergency Management Plan's aims are:
- The safety of cyclists and personnel at the Ride;
- The continuity of operations;
- Protection of the environment; and
- Compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
For the safety of everyone, these guidelines must be followed:
- Keep the roped off lanes between tents clear.These act as fire breaks and give access to the campsite for emergency personnel and vehicles.
- Familiarise yourself with the location of the assembly areas.
- The 2009 Great Escapade Campsites, Lunch Areas and Rest Areas are Smoke Free. Candles, sparklers and any open flames are not permitted on the Campsite. Tents are highly flammable.
- Do not interfere with the fire fighting equipment. Our lives may depend on it.
Emergency notification
- A siren or continuous whistle blast.
- Follow the direction of the wardens. They are trained to assist you in an emergency.
