Training & Preparation

About this page

1. Basic Training Guides

With the ride around 8 weeks away, it's time to get serious about training. Check out our 3 new training programs!

2. Share the Road

Remember that at all times, you are sharing the road with other road users AND 15,000 other bike riders. To ensure enjoyment for all riders, please make sure you know the road rules, be familiar with riding in a bunch and ensure that your bike is in good working order.

3. Nutrition

PowerBar is the Official Sports Nutrition Provider for the Around the Bay in a Day 2008. We profile (Dave) a typical rider's nutrition needs as he prepares for, and rides in, the Around the Bay in a Day.

4. Nutrition - Ask Greg

Greg Cox is the Senior Sports Dietitian at the Australian Institute of Sport. Ask Greg any questions you may have about nutrition before, during and after your rides.

5. Training - Ask Rob

Rob Crowe is the director of RIDEWISER, a cycling coaching and training program based in Melbourne. Ask Rob any questions you may have in relation to your training for the Around the Bay in a Day 2008.
