1. Ride Options and Entry fees for 2009

Take up the ultimate challenge of 250km or enjoy a leisurely ride with friends and family to Altona Beach, or choose something in between.

 

250km Ride Option SOLD OUT

The 250km takes you around the bay with a bit extra - this is a real challenge and a must-do ride for those looking to tick off the classic rides to do in Australia. The ride takes you to Queenscliff first via the scenic route to Geelong (through Portarlington), where you will catch a ferry to Sorrento. From Sorrento you will take the Nepean Hwy heading back to Melbourne via Frankston and head along beautiful Beach Road .

  • Ticket Price: $140 (includes Free Event Jersey*, ferry and lunch)
  • Route: Melbourne/Queenscliff/Ferry/Sorrento/Melbourne (M-Q-F-S-M)
  • Field Limit: 1,600 Riders 
  • Start Time: From 5.30am
  • For the 250km Ride Option – the Rider must be aged 15 years or older on the day of the Ride.

210km Ride Option (with Ferry)

For those that want to say they have ridden around Port Phillip Bay.  You can choose to ride to Queenscliff or Sorrento first before catching the ferry and finishing in Melbourne.  

  • Ticket Price: $135 (includes Free Event Jersey*, ferry and lunch)
  • Route One: Melbourne/Queenscliff/Ferry/Sorrento/Melbourne (with ferry via Queescliff). (M-Q-F-S-M)
  • Route One Field Limit: 2,400 Riders SOLD OUT
  • Start Time: From 6am
  • For the 210km Ride Option – the Rider must be aged 15 years or older on the day of the Ride.

  • Route Two: Melbourne/Sorrento/Ferry/Queenscliff/Melbourne (with ferry via Sorrento) (M-S-F-Q-M)
  • Route Two Field Limit: 4,000 Riders
  • Start Time: From 6am
  • For the  210km Ride Option – the Rider must be aged 15 years or older on the day of the Ride.

210km Ride Option (no Ferry)

If you like to just keep riding, this is the ride for you.  Choose to ride to Queenscliff and return, or ride to Sorrento and return.

  • Ticket Price: $125 (includes Free Event Jersey* and lunch)
  • Route: Melbourne/Queenscliff/Melbourne (M-Q-M) OR Melbourne/Sorrento/Melbourne (M-S-M).
  • Start Time: From 6am. 
  • For the 210km Ride Option – the Rider must be aged 15 years or older on the day of the Ride.

bean ground & drunk 100km Ride Option

The perfect target to aim for if you haven\'t got time to train all winter, or you are just starting and want a challenge. 

 

 

  • Ticket Price: $100 (includes Free Event Jersey* and lunch)
  • Transport to Sorrento (optional): $50  (Non-refundable. You can complete your registration and login later to select this option anytime up until 5pm Thursday 8 Oct)
  • Route: Sorrento to Melbourne (S-M)
  • Start Time: 8am - 9am
  • For the 100km Ride Option – the Rider must be aged 12 years or older on the day of the Ride.

Polar 80km School Challenge Ride Option

\"\"  This challenge is for students only! Here you get a taste of the excitement and buzz of riding along Beach Road to Patterson River and return. Get a school team entered, and be rewarded for your participation.

  • Ticket Price: $50 (includes Free Event Jersey*and lunch)
  • Route: Melbourne/Patterson River/Melbourne (M-PR-M)
  • Start Time: From 7am
  • For the 80km  Ride Option – the Rider must be aged 12 years or older on the day of the Ride.

50km Ride Option

Experience the thrill of riding over the Westgate Bridge (twice!) and enjoy the festivities at the halfway mark in Altona at the Altona Beach Break.  There are many great reasons why you should take on this challenge!

  • Route: Melbourne/Altona/Melbourne (M-A-M)
  • Start Time: From 8am
  • For the 50km Ride Option – the Rider must be aged 12 years or older on the day of the Ride.
