Bicycle Victoria is excited to announce a much improved and expanded Training Courses program for the coming Rides season

What training courses are on offer?

Bicycle Victoria is working on a much improved and expanded Training Courses program for the coming Rides season. Most courses offer full refunds to Volunteers through reimbursement once a Volunteer uses their course's skills in practice on a Bicycle Victoria Great Ride.

Feel free to contact Bicycle Victoria for any queries or updates on the Volunteer Training Course Program on (03) 8636 8888 or by Email.

Courses on offer at present are:

Food Handling courses

Designed to give valuable information to anyone who is a Catering volunteer on a Bicycle Victoria event.

It is not compulsory to complete this course to be a Catering volunteer, but is highly recommended.

Responsible Serving of Alcohol (RSA) courses

The RSA course is compulsory training for all team members of the below teams. The course is available only to members of these teams.

  • Cafe -  2008 Great Victorian Bike Ride®

  • Cafe - 2009 Great Escapade Bike Ride®

They educate the volunteer on safe distribution of alcohol, methods in dealing with intoxicated persons, as well as improving customer service skills behind the bar.

This course will be held prior to the mentioned Rides by our Cafe contractor. Loose practice in pouring beverages and assemblying bar equipment will also be conducted.

The date of this "once-off" course will be released once Cafe team members have been determined. Dates and times of the course will be released privately to these people.

Any Cafe members who already have a valid RSA need not repeat the course, but are welcome to attend.
