Do a deal with your local Bike Shop

Your local bike shop is more than just a place to buy a bike or add accessories. Local bike shops are cycling hubs, their staff are passionate about riding and have a wealth of expertise to share. Your local bike shop can be an essential resource and source of support for your Ride2School Program.

Why not print off of our Ride2School Bike Shop Certificate, visit your local bike shop and ask them to support the Ride2School program at your school? Ask them if they'll agree to some of the suggested offers on the certificate. In exchange you could offer them free advertising in your school newsletter as well as plenty of acknowledgement for any help they give or prizes they donate.

Some bike shops will offer students and families of local schools a 10% discount. Others will do safety checks on student bikes in the lead up to Bike Ed. Many shops will display Ride2School event posters in their window and some will even donate prizes for Ride2School Day. It can't hurt to ask!

Most bike shops are listed on Bicycle Network Victoria's Find a... Search by your suburb for the nearest bike shop to your school. If you know of a bike shop but can't find it on the list, please let the bike shop know they're not on the Bicycle Network Victoria website next time you visit.

Active After School Communities

Active After-school Communities (AASC) have teamed up with Ride2School to deliver fun and exciting Bike Ed courses to students after school. They endeavour to get more students participating in Bike Ed courses.

Active After-school Communities (AASC) is a national program that provides Australian primary school aged children with access to free structured physical activity programs in the after school timeslot.

The AASC program is designed to engage traditionally inactive children in structured physical activities and build links with community based organisations for ongoing participation- including the Ride2School program.
