Tour de France for Charity

The likes of Cadel Evans and Lance Armstrong will be tackling this gruelling route in July - but why not track Bicycle Network Victoria Member, Damian Watson, as he takes on all 21 stages to help raise funds and awareness for Crohn's Disease.

South Melbourne resident, Bicycle Network Victoria Member, Crohn's Disease sufferer...Tour de France rider?

On Thursday 4 June, Damian Watson will be departing Monaco in his attempt to cycle the entire 2009 Tour de France route to raise funds and awareness for Crohn's Disease.

Although Crohn's Disease is usually not life threatening, it can have an enourmous impact on the sufferer's quality of life.  The causes of the disease is not yet known and there is no cure, but Damian hopes that the money raised on his Tour de France mission can assist in funding research into Crohn's Disease.

You can follow his progress through his e-newsletter as he takes on this 3,500km journey through six countries.  Project patrons and Australian Tour de France cyclists Simon Gerrans (2008 stage winner) and Baden Cook (2003 Green Jersey winner) will accompany Damian on the 15km prologue in Monaco.  Join his e-newsletter today, and help Damian raise awareness for Crohn's Disease, as well as track his progress on this amazing journey,

Bicycle Network Victoria is proud to support Damian's endeavours!
