Can I enter?
Registrations for this event have now closed via our online registration system and office.
You can still register on site at the Bupa Around the Bay Festival at the following times:
Friday 14 Oct 12:00pm - 7:00pm
Saturday 15 Oct 10:00am - 5:00pm
Sunday 16 Oct 5:00am – 7:30am
Late entries will incur an administration fee of $20 in addition to the normal entry price .
Can I change my ride options?
Closing Dates for entries 250km, 210km, 135km, 100km & 50km Ride Option entries close at 5pm, Friday 30 September 2011 (AEST). No further changes are allowed including:
- Interstate bike transport
- Meals
- 100km transport
- Cancellations
- Ride option changes
Can I cancel my ticket?
No refunds will be offered for cancellations received after 5pm, Wednesday 24 August 2011 (AEST).
Rider Kits
Bupa Around the Bay Rider Kits* are currently being dispatched. Riders can expect to receive kits from Monday 26 September 2011.
*250km - 100km Riders who entered by the 31 August, including 50km entries that paid for postage.
Riders who paid and completed their registration after the 1st September 2011 are required to collect their Rider Kits from the registration marquee at Alexandra Gardens at the following times:

Saturday 15 Oct 10:00am - 5:00pm
Sunday 16 Oct 5:00am – 7:30am
If you signed up before the 1st September and have not received it (as of 10th October) it's likely your pack has been lost in the mail. Please visit the registration marquee at Alexandra Gardens at the above times to get your rider kit.
Jersey / Rider Shirt Exchanges
In order to have your jersey / rider shirt exchanged, you must return your jersey to Bicycle Network Victoria unworn with the original tags in place.
You have three options in order to exchange your jersey. * Limited sizes available.
1. You can come into the Bicycle Network Victoria office, which is on level 4, 246 Bourke St, Melbourne.
2. Send us your original jersey along with a self-addressed, postage paid large envelope or satchel (Approx $5 postage) and we will return a replacement jersey to you.
3. Bring your jersey to Alexandra Gardens during the following times for exchange: 12 midday - 7pm Fri 14 Oct or 10am - 5pm Sat 15 Oct or 5am - 7:30am Sun 16 Oct
General Information
When is the ride? Sunday 16 October 2011.
Where is the start? All rides start and finish at Alexandra Gardens in Melbourne (except the 100km Sorrento ride, which starts in Sorrento and the 135km which starts in Geelong).
What are the ride options?
The distances are 50km, 100km, 135km, 210km and 250km.
What times do the rides start? (subject to change)
250km – 5:30am (start in Melbourne)
210km – 6:00am (start in Melbourne)
135km – 6:00am (start in Geelong)
100km – 8:00am (start in Sorrento)
100km - 8:00am (start in Melbourne)
50km – 8:00am (start in Melbourne)
Prices
250km Ride $170 (includes Free Event Jersey*, ferry and lunch);
210km Ride Queenscliff (with Ferry) $170 (includes Free Event Jersey*, ferry and lunch);
210km Ride Sorrento (with Ferry) $150 (includes Free Event Jersey*, ferry and lunch);
210km Ride (no Ferry) $135 (includes Free Event Jersey* and lunch);
135km Ride $125 (includes Free Event Jersey*, ferry and lunch)
100km Ride $110 (includes Free Event Jersey* and lunch);
50km Ride $60 (includes Free Rider Shirt**).
*The Free Event Jersey is an early inventive. Complete your registration by 3 June 2011 to qualify for the Free Event Jersey.
**Entry must be completed by the date stated in the Terms and Conditions.
When do entries close?
250km, 210km, 135km, 100km and 50km entries close Friday 30 September 2011
Entries received by 31 August 2011 will have their entry packs mailed to them.
Entries received from 1 September 2011 will have to collect their entry packs from Bupa Around the Bay Festival at Alexandra Gardens.
What happens at the end of the ride?
After riders have completed their personal challenge, they can enjoy the Festival atmosphere including live entertainment, public bar, food vendors, massage services and the not to be missed GoBike Expo.
Login and Passwords
Q: Do I need my Bicycle Network Victoria membership number to login?
A: No - you will be issued with unique login details when you complete the "Rider" page of the registration.
Q: How do I find out my login details?
A: When you complete the “Rider” page of the registration with your name and e-mail details, your username and password will be e-mailed to you.
Q: I’ve forgotten my password details
A: Click on “Forgotten password?” link. Login details will be emailed to you.

Registration
Q: Is there a portion of the entry fee that goes to The Smith Family?
A: No, Your entry fees help get More People Cycling More Often. Your fundraising supports The Smith Family to help disadvantaged Australian children to realise their potential through education.
Q: Is there a minimum age to participate?
A: Yes. For the 210km and 250km ride options the rider must be aged 15yrs or older on the day of the ride. For the 50km, 80km and 100km ride options the rider must be aged 12yrs or older* on the day of the ride. *Rider's aged 12 -15yrs, must be accompanied on the ride by a registered rider over the age of 18yrs.
Q: How do I turn off Google Auto Fill?
A: Option 1. Near your Google Toolbar (top right) Click Settings, then Options and unclick Auto Fill. Log out and log in again. Or Option 2. Place a full stop in every empty field.
Q: When is registration complete?
A: Registration is complete when all required information is filled in and payment has been processed.
Q: What if I don’t complete payment when I register?
A: Your place will not be confirmed until payment is received. Your details will be saved and you can return to your registration at any time to complete it by simply logging in.
Q. My preferred ride option no longer appears in the drop down menu?
A: Your preferred ride option has sold out. You could select another option and / or Register at Bicycle Network Victoria Forums www.bv.com.au/forums and post a message in the ATB Discussion section requesting a Transfer from anyone that has to cancel or change options for some reason.
Q: How do I cancel my registration?
A. You must notify Bicycle Network Victoria in writing via our webform in order to cancel your registration. Cancellations prior to 5pm Wednesday 24 August will receive 50% refund. After this date, you will not be eligible for a refund. Bicycle Network Victoria members may be able to receive a refund after this date by making a claim through their membership.
In order to receive 100% of your registration cost back, you can transfer your registration up until 5pm Wednesday 24 August.
Q: How do I transfer my registration?
A. You will need the contact information of the new rider to complete the transfer (details as per tab 1. Rider) Or go to www.bv.com.au/forums and see if there are any riders wishing to take over your registration. If you entered prior to 5pm Friday 11 June, don't forget to tell the new rider that the transfer includes the free event jersey (50km riders not applicable).
If the new rider has already started a registration, you will need to contact us in order for this registration to be cancelled, so that transfer can be processed correctly. Please call Ph 03 8376 8888 or send us a message.
1. Login to www.atb2011.com.au using your username and password. (Team Managers - if transferring on behalf of one of your team members, please make sure you login as that rider and not yourself)
2. Go to the Bupa Around the Bay Registration menu option on the left.
3. Under Tab 2. Rider options, there is a link to transfer your registration, click this and put the new rider's contact details.
4. If you do not know all the information required, put in a full stop or randomly choose an option from the drop down box if required. You must know the new rider's full name and email address as a minimum.
5. At the bottom of the page, go through to the payment gateway to pay for the $20 transfer fee.
6. The new rider will receive a username and password via email which will prompt them to update their registration. Once logged in, they will need to update their contact details (if required), update details under Tab 2. Rider Options and read through and agree to the Tab 3. Terms and Conditions
7. The new rider will pay for the ride option and the transfer fee directly to you.
The transfer option will close at 5pm Wednesday 24 August 2011.
Ride Direction
Q: Which direction does the 250km ride go?
A: Anti-clockwise, via Queenscliff first.
Q: I want to ride to Queenscliff first - which ride option do I choose?
A: Choose the "210km Queenscliff" option.
Q: I want to ride to Sorrento first - which ride option do I choose?
A: Choose the "210km Sorrento " option.
Q: I want to ride to Queenscliff and back to Melbourne and not go on the ferry - which ride option do I choose?
A: Choose the "210km Queenscliff return (no ferry)" option.
Q: I want to ride to Sorrento and back to Melbourne and not go on the ferry- which ride option do I choose?
A: Choose the "210km Sorrento return (no ferry) " option.
Making Changes to your Registration
Q: If my registration is complete, what do I do if I wish to change my ride option?
A: Login using your username and password, and click Bupa Around the Bay Registration in the menu on the left and then Tab 2. Rider Options , click on the drop down box and re-select the ride you wish to participate in, and press 'Save' at the bottom of the screen. All changes must be completed by 5pm AEST Wednesday 24 August 2011. Only new registrations will be accepted until the closing date of 5pm AEST Friday 1 October.
Q: I signed up as an individual, how do I join a team?
A: Login using your username and password and click ATB Registration in the menu on the left and then Tab 1. Rider. The first question asks "Are you riding in a Team?" Click "Yes" and then type in your teamcode, press Save at the bottom of the screen and then your team name will be confirmed at the top of your registration.
Q: My registration is complete but now I want to do the Great Ocean Road Extension, what do I do?
A: Contact AllTrails Bicycle Tours and let them know that you have already booked your place on Bupa Around the Bay. Your ride option can be changed to the 135km Geelong option so that you can participate in the ride extension.
Free Cycling Jersey
Q: How do I change my jersey size (prior to 5pm Tuesday 31 August)?
A: You will need to make this request in writing or phone us on 03 8376 8888.
Q: What do I do if my free short sleeve event jersey does not fit?
A: You have three options in order to exchange your jersey.
- You can come into our office, which is on Level 4, 246 Bourke Street, Melbourne.
- Send us your original jersey along with a self-addressed, postage paid large envelope or satchel (Approx $5 postage) and we will return a replacement jersey to you.
- Bring your jersey to Alexandra Gardens on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 October (during the 50km registration collection times) for exchange.

Q: How do you add the placeholders in team e-mails?
A: Copy the placeholders into the text of your e-mail – e.g [FirstName]. Ensure that the exact caps and text is copied. If you cut and paste the placeholders you may get a table format. In this case, it is better to manually type in the placeholders.
Merchandise
Q: Can I pay for my merchandise and my ride entry fee together?
A: Yes, under the merchandise tab you will be able to select merchandise and pay online at the end of the registration.
Q: Can I buy merchandise even if I am not registering as a rider?
A: Yes, by clicking the Merchandise option on the left hand side of the screen under FAQs on the registration homepage. Here you will be able to select products and pay online.
PayPal – paying by bank account
Q: How do I pay by bank account?
A: If you want to pay by bank account, you will need to join PayPal. If you are not an existing user of PayPal, we recommend joining PayPal before you complete your registration.
• Go to www.paypal.com.au and click on “Sign Up Now”. Once you have been sent your confirmation e-mail you will then need to link your bank account details to your account.
• Log in to PayPal and click on the “Profile” button which is located at the top right of the page. You will then be able to click on “Bank Accounts” which is listed in the middle list under Financial Information.
• Once you have completed the process of entering your Bank Account details, you are set up to pay via your bank account.
Q: Is there a fee to use PayPal?

Q: What if I have Amex or Diners?
A: These cards are not accepted. You havehttp://www.prepaidshop.com.au/ 4 other options;
1. Ask friend who has a Visa or MasterCard to pay for you (and pay you friend back!)
2. Set up a Paypal account (see above)
3. You can also use the new Visa or MasterCard PrePaid which works like a phone card and allows you to only put the amount you wish to spend on the card and use it to buy things online without entering your credit/debit card.
