Bulleen and Templestowe Roads are on the Principal Bicycle Network and have the potential to offer a viable link for sustainable transport purposes. It would also take advantage of the many off road paths in the area and help better connect the community
Link needs to be completed
June 2010 The good work along Bulleen rd needs to be completed before it can be labelled a success. Currently it does not connect to the surrounding network; to the south it needs to reach the Koonung Creek path and tho the north it needs to continue to Manningahm Rd and continue along Templestowe Road to at least Williamsons Rd.

Bulleen Road gets major bike upgrade in the middle
27 May 2010 New bike lanes on Bulleen Road will be a major enhancement to bike infrastructure in Melbourne's eastern suburbs.
The $1.2 million project will install lanes between Golden Way and Koonung Creek, a 1.2K stretch that currently carries more than 34,000 vehicles a day.
The project, expected to be finished soon, involves removal of power poles, the installation of light poles, road widening, the construction of a kerb and channel, line marking and new signs.
The new lanes will be used by commuters and students from schools in the area.
This area of Melbourne has some good routes, but they are not well connected and more investment will be needed to reach, at minimum the Koonung Creekto the south and Manningham Rd to the north.
The image, right, shows the lack of connection between the Koonung Creek and the Eastern Freeway and path, located on the far side.
