9 SmartBus and ThinkTram routes
We are concerned that SmartBus and ThinkTram programs are threatening established and identified bike routes.

We mentioned to members recently that the SmartBus and ThinkTram programs were threatening established and identified bike routes.
In particular we were concerned about plans for Mickleham Road and Melrose Drive where the drafts we were shown removed the bike lanes and put us in painted bus lanes (which is OK) and open traffic.
The new plans we have seen today mean that riders will move from green bike lanes to sharing the red bus lanes with four buses an hour.
This is a good result and we will sit down with SmartBus team in the new year to resolve how to handle sections of road shared by the bike and bus networks.
