West: Monash St

Starting at Sunshine Station, Monash St becomes South Rd which can connect to Barkly St and the Central Activity Centre of Footscray and beyond to the CBD

 

Brimbank Council installs parking lane; Riders await bike lane

 

3 June 2009 Council has just installed new linemarkings along the edges of Monash St, between Station Place and Duke Street. These could represent a great opportunity for Council to add some bike lanes adjacent, as we have illustrated below. As the photograph shows, the ample road space can easily accomodate the parking, vehicle lane and a bike lane.
