West: Kororoit Creek Path

A key link in the west runs between the Western Ring Rd path and the Bay Trail. Two major gaps are holding back local commuter and recreational riding in the area. The gap north of the Federation Trail is now funded but the southern gap towards the Bay Trail is disrupting what should be a great circuit.

Kororoit Creek Improvements will complete the Trail

9 July 2010. The following improvements to the Kororoit Creek Trail, still outstanding, are necessary to eventually complete the Trail and make it a cohesive, legible and rideable route.

Joining the dots in the west - Gap in the Kororoit Creek Path gets funded

Dec 07 Brimbank City Council's hard work has paid off with a successful application to the Metropolitan Trail Network Fund which has allocated $360,000 to close the gap between the current end of the path at Learmonth Crescent and the Federation Trail. This will allow residents to enjoy a more attractive route and connect up to the rest of the Metropolitan Trail Network.

This project would not have been possible without Brimbank City Council working with City West Water who agreed to do preparatory work for the path as part of their capital works along the alignment.
The City of Brimbank were recently rated the 'Most Improved' in Bicycle Network Victoria's BIXE'07
review of Council Bicycle Expenditure, reflecting a welcome willingness to do more for riders in the area.
You can send a thank you to the Mayor of Brimbank. Remember to keep your messages positive.
