How to get you and your bike to the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail

By Road:

Wangaratta: 253 km via Hume Fwy - 2 hours, 55 minutes

Beechworth: 286 km via Hume Fwy and Great Alpine Rd - 3 hours, 15 minutes

Bright: 327 km via Hume Fwy and Great Alpine Rd - 3 hours, 45 minutes

By Rail:

Regular V/Line service between Melbourne's Southern Cross and Wangaratta Station. Currently in limbo due to upgrade of the North East Rail Revitalisation. Coaches currently run between Seymour and Wodonga. Coaches will not take bikes. The CountryLink XPT service will take bikes, boxed.

See V/Line for timetables, ticketing and route maps. Monitor the state of the revitalisation project for the restoration of normal V/Line train service.
