More bike parking at VicRoads

VicRoads have responded to growing demand from staff and boosted the bike parking at their Kew HQ.

8 September 2009. The switch to bike transportation is reaching into the most unlikely places. The expansive car park at the VicRoads headquarters has been joined by a greatly enlarged bike shed.

The new layout is a good mix of hanging rails for extra capacity and flat tops for convenience. You can see the concrete footprint of the old cage inside the new one. A photograph of the old cage is at right.

More VicRoads staff riding to work can only be a good thing. Each day they will come face to face with the realities of commuting on Melbourne's road network and develop a better understanding of the problems riders confront, and, one trusts, a new determination to fix them.
