Bicycle Network Victoria elects 2012 President – Janice Simpson

The Bicycle Network Victoria Board has elected Janice Simpson as the organisation’s new President.

A Bicycle Network Victoria board member since 2007, Janice’s background includes significant experience working in the education and small business sectors. She currently works as a business consultant and freelance writer, researcher and teacher. She is a member of several community groups and organisations spanning bike, environment and creative interests and has extensive experience in regional business group development and leadership.

Janice replaces Simon Crone who was re-elected to a three-year term on the Board in October but chose not to stand for President. Simon served seven years as President, the longest Presidential term in the organisation’s history.

Rick Barry

Rick Barry was elected to the Bicycle Network Victoria Board in 2007. He is a currently a member of the Remuneration Committee as well as the Co-opted Board Members and Election Process working groups.

Simon Crone

Simon was elected to the Bicycle Network Victoria Board in 2002. He has recently stepped down in his role as Board President. He is currently the Convenor of Remuneration, a member of the Audit and Risk Committee and of the Beyond Victoria working group.

Catherine James

Catherine was elected to the Bicycle Network Victoria Board in November 2008 and is a member of the Audit and Risk and Remuneration Committees.

Helen Millicer

Helen Millicer was elected to the Bicycle Network Victoria Board in November 2008 and since been re-elected in 2011 She is a member of the Audit and Risk Committee, and Beyond Victoria Group.

Janice Simpson

Janice was elected to the Bicycle Network Victoria Board in 2007 and became President in 2011. She is a member of the Audit and Risk and Revenue Committees.

Jeremy Brand

Jeremy Brand was elected to the Bicycle Network Victoria Board in November 2009. He has since been appointed in 2011 to fill a one year casual vacancy and is currently the Vice President and Convener of the Audit and Risk Committee. He is also a member of the Remuneration Committee and the Co-opted Board Members working group.

Tony Maughan

Tony Maughan was elected to the Bicycle Network Victoria Board in November 2009. He is currently a member of the Beyond Victoria and Election Process Groups.

David Smith

David Smith was elected to the Bicycle Network Victoria Board in 2011. He is a member of the Audit and Risk Committee and Beyond Victoria working group.

Geoff Schomburgk

Geoff was appointed to the Bicycle Network Victoria Board in 2011 to fill a one year casual vacancy. He is currently a member of the Audit and Risk Committee and Beyond Victoria working group.
