Tour d'Afrique is an annual 12000 km bicycle race and expedition from Cairo to Cape Town. Averaging 120 kms per day over 120 days, participants travel through Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia and South Africa. The tour is made up of 8 sections and can thus accommodate riders who are unable to do the full tour. Creators and organisers of epic trans continental bicycle races and expeditions, the company, Tour d'Afrique Ltd, also run the Orient Express - Paris to Istanbul (4000 km in 57 days), Silk Route - Istanbul to Beijing (10000 km in 108 days) and Vuelta Sudamericana - Rio de Janeiro to Quito (13000 km in 140 days) For further information visit www.tourdafrique.com |
