Congestion projects

On this page we will gather information about projects that will have a beneficial effect on congestion.

Obviously congestion occurs in many places and at many times. Regional roads are congested over the Easter period and congestion can occur on weekends such as around the MCG.

The Premier's congestion priority - as articulated in January 2008 - is to manage congestion in the morning and afternoon peaks within 10km of the CBD of Melbourne.

This page will accumulate the commitments that contribute to an increase in bicycle use in the zone and periods identified by the Premier.

The projects may be funded by Federal, State or Local Government and may have 'another purpose'. That is they may be a 'recreation path' that can be used by commuters. They may encourage kids to get themselves to school, thereby removing motor vehicle trips from the arterials.
