South: Bay Trail Patterson River to Humphries Road

This is the section of the Bay Trail that is in the City of Frankston.

State Government funding for the completion of the critical Frankston section of the Bay Trail expires in 2010.

Despite conducting several route reviews since the early 1990's, the Frankston Council is yet to agree on a route for the trail and is currently in the process of reviewing their commitment to completing this section of the Trail.

The Council is not consulting with riders, local bike riding groups or Bicycle Victoria as part of this deliberation.

Frankston residents are encouraged to contact the Mayor and Councillors and let them know about your support for the trail.

What we are asking for

Currently the Bay Trail ends at the Patterson River. A number of walking trails head south towards Frankston.

We are asking for the Bay Trail to be continued south linking to the Frankston shopping centre and train station.
