Oct 07 The latest Census data gives a detailed snapshot of rider movements reported to the Australian Bureau of Statistics in August 06. This confirms an increase in bicycle commuting.
In a comparison between the capital cities, Melbourne not only had the biggest percentage increase but the biggest increase in raw numbers as well (6,000+).
