Disused railways between Wagga Wagga to Tumbarumba and Tumut and Batlow show great potential for tourism rail trails
The Riverina Highlands Rail Trails Committee has been working hard for many years to develop two sectons of Rail Trail and deliver significant tourism benefits to the region.
A feasibility study was completed in 2006 and can be downloaded from the Committee's website. The committee is now looking to source funding for the trail. Bicycle Victoria will be lending its support to the project by assisting with securing government funding.
The trails have great potential due to the large population centre of Wagga Wagga, the established tourism services in the region, and the spectacular scenery along the proposed trails.
