The project is being jointly funded by the Council and Parks Victoria and will cost $759 000.

In this financial year Stage One will build a ramp to Darebin Road and a boardwalk under the bridge. This will cost $520 000. Scheduled completion in June 08.

Next financial year - and immediately after Stage One, Stage Two will construct a concrete path north to John Cain Park and associated landscaping works. This section will cost $239,000 and is scheduled for completion in October this year.

Please write and say thanks

We encourage members in Darebin to log on to your home page where you will find the contacts for the Mayor and your local State member to send them a thank you note.

You can send thanks to the Minister with responsibility for Parks Victoria with this link.

These thank you notes are always read and considered so it is worth putting in a bit about how you plan to use the trail when it is improved and why it will make a difference.

What we are asking for

Outer section

Sections of trail run south through Epping and Mill Park to the Ring Road. The Ring Road Trail provides a connection to the Darebin Creek Trail through to Settlement Rd. We are seeking a fully connected trail including through Bundoora Park as per the City of Darebin Cycle Strategy.

Inner section

We are working to develop a continuous trail along the creek reservation with strong links to the University, Northland Shopping Centre and schools along the way.

The last link to the Yarra and Outer Circle trails is covered in our campaign section - Let's build the Darebin Creek Bridge.
