Pakenham Bypass Project

Aug 05 VicRoads has awarded two sections of the Pakenham Bypass, which will link Berwick with Nar Nar Goon.

Currently, there will be an unsignposted bicycle lane on the shoulder of the freeway which will provide a commuter link between from new developments in Pakenham to Berwick. Provision is ultimately being made, however, for a future shared use path to run within the road reserve to serve a wider range of cyclists.

Toomuc Valley Rd

Aug 03 Council has recently completed a shared path along Toomuc Valley Rd in Pakenham from the Princes Hwy to the school.

Draft Bicycle Strategy

Jun 03 Council has developed a draft bicycle strategy. Bicycle Victoria provided comment and recommended council undertake facility concept designs for the top 10 projects in order to implement the strategy. Bicycle projects that we consider to be high priority include:

2003. The Dept of Sport and Recreation has provided funding for a 17km multi-use trail between Emerald and Gembrook.
