May 07 Bicycle Victoria recently attended a Bicycle Advisory meeting at Nillumbik Council where a range of issues and initiatives were discussed. The proposal for a trail between Diamond Creek out to Hurstbridge amongst other links. The Diamond Creek path was discussed with the potential for a new bridge to be built just south of Main Hurstbridge Rd. The condition of the path overall was discussed as we believe it needs a review for upgrade in quality.
Jul 06 Vicroads have recently introduced yet another link in Melbourne's Principal Bicycle Network, joining Eltham to Greensborough.
Starting at Main Rd, Bridge St now has exclusive bike lanes, continuing along Sherbourne Rd and up Karingal Drive all the way thru to Greensborough at Diamond Creek Rd.

Jan 03 Nillumbik council have established a Recreation Trails Advisory Committee made up of two councillors and nine community members representing various perspectives including Land Care, horse riding, walking and cycling.
The role of the committee is to review and make recommendations to Council on existing and new trail proposals in Nillumbik.
