This spectacular trail follows the shores of Lake Hume and offers a fantastic ride.

Sites to see along the trail include the Bonegilla Migrant Centre, which was a temporary home for 320,000 migrants from more than 30 countries between 1947 and 1971.

Getting there

Either drive the Hume Hwy to Wodonga, or catch a train between Melbourne and Sydney to Wodonga station.

Trail description

The trail is currently under construction with some sections open and ready for use. See link (right) for updates on trail development.

Trail surface

The surface varies, depending on the section and stage of development. Most of the trail is gravel and suitable for mountain bikes only, at this stage. The 9km section between Tallangatta and Mitta Mitta River bridge is sealed and suitable for all types of bikes. A separate equestrian trail means that horses rarely cross the cycling/walking trail.
