Site content is informed by the findings of the 'Revolutions for Women' research project, conducted at Deakin University's School of Health and Social Development, investigating the motivations, supports and constraints on women cycling, as well as from discussion and feedback from focus groups, and of course, you.

Gear Up Girl Sydney: workshops

Monday and Friday
10:00: Bike check and introductions. Walk, ride or drive to Cafe Velocino where you will meet cycling mums Deb, Fleur and Sonia and shop mechanics Blair and John who will give your bike a quick check-over to
make sure your seat height is right, your tyres pumped up and your bike is safe to ride.

10:30 Ride to Mordialloc.... or Patterson Lakes....or further - depending how we feel on the day.
11:30 Return to Cafe Velocino for coffee and a chat.

If you think your bike needs a bit of work, bring it down to the shop the week beforehand for a comprehensive service.

 

Cadence women's cycling group

Rides on Saturday mornings, starting and ending in Seaford.

Women of all ages and abilities are invited, particularly older women who want to build road-riding confidence.

 

Social Cycling with Deb, Fleur and Sonia

Where:
Cafe Velocino - 304 Beach Road, Black Rock.

What to bring:
If you've got them – bike, helmet and a water bottle.

You don't have to wear Lycra unless you want to

Families on bikes

Kids in bike seats welcome! Kids on training wheels welcome! Kids on own bikes welcome! Darebin Bicycle User Group and Jika Jika Community Centre in Northcote welcome parents and kids to join free family rides to popular child-friendly destinations in Melbourne. Rides happen on the first Sunday of every month.
