Each year the Board endorses a calendar of work for the year that maps out the regular activities of the Board as well as the issues that the Board intends to tackle in that calendar year.

From the saddle

These pages replace the President's From the saddle column that used to appear in Ride On.

The Board judged that the column would be more effective if it appeared in In the Loop.

A disadvantage of communication through the magazine is the time taken from production to publication and distribution. The magazine column was caught between reporting discussions and decisions that were long past or trying to anticipate issues that would be relevant when the reader received the magazine.

In the Loop, it was judged, would give the Board the opportunity to report more frequently and at more length than in a short column each quarter in the magazine.

The aim of the Board items in In the Loop will be to:
• Inform members of the particular work the Board has done.
• Inform members of the regular activities of the Board, in particular so that prospective Board candidates get an idea of the work of the Board.
