Bicycle Victoria submission

Bicycle Victoria is extremely concerned about these proposals, and has prepared a submission that:

• agrees that the not-for-profit sector is important to Australia's growth and wellbeing.
• agrees on the need for accountability and transparency, especially for larger not-for-profit organisations.
• encourages the State Government to support a specialist Commonwealth regulatory context. We like the approach proposed by 'A Better Framework: Reforming not-for-profit Regulation' (the Woodward–Marshall Report). See below.
• explains why Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) is not the right destination for Bicycle Victoria and other similar Associations.
